Sometimes, because of the weather (cloud, wind, or rain) in Glacier Country, we are unable to climb higher into the mountains to the snow landing sites, or people simply choose not to participate in the snow landing component of the journey, but we can still fly safely over the Franz Josef & Fox Glaciers. Amazing photographs and a fantastic view of the stunning blue hue in the glacier ice are still available during these overflights!
Glacier Country Helicopters is a local, family-owned and operated business. In 2014, Poppy and Gus Gordon, a husband and wife team who are both commercial pilots, launched the business. You can find them at the hangar most days or flying one of our helicopters.
