Wairakei is highly valued by Maori's who settled here over a 1,000 years ago and enjoyed the waters therapeutic and healing powers.
Marvel at the intricate Maori carvings during your walk through the terraces which depict the history of the local tribe Ngati Tuwharetoa.
You'll be in awe of the geysers that blast the waters up from depths of 1.5km reaching pressures of 250 thousand pounds per square inch.
The vivid blue pools cascade beautifully over the terraces, carrying the silica which helped form these amazing natural platforms.
Come and experience these outstanding terraces and discover for yourself why they were once touted as the true eighth wonder of the world.

이쁘고 볼만하지만 전체가 크지않아서 둘러보는데 시간 별로 걸리지 않음. 테라스와 스파 둘러보는 정도~
What a neat place! Definitely a nice little visit 😊
Wonderful to walk around the terraces and the Maori old villiage. Stunning pools to visit - highly recommend if you want a luxurious soak to ease away any aches and pains. Beautifully situated amongst rocks and trees for that perfect relaxing setting. The middle pool was 36 degrees and the hottest one was 44 degrees fed by the bubbling adjacent geyser which cascaded over the terraces.
One of the most amazing places I've been in NZ. Take drinking water with you because differently of most thermal pools in NZ, there are no free water fountains available to drink. The walk is way shorter than what I imagined from the advertisement, but the terraces are amazing and worth it.

짧고 굵은 볼만한 곳
천천히 돌아보는데 50여분 걸렸네요. 그만한 가치는 있습니다.
